Melihat Gülses — Biography

Melihat Gülses (born 1 October 1958 in Akşehir, Konya) is a noted performer of classical Turkish music.

By her own account, the song "Günaydınım Narçiçeğim" was the piece that first brought her to wide public attention. Over a long stage career spanning classical repertoire as well as folk songs, she has remained active into 2026, appearing during Ramadan alongside Bekir Köse to perform pieces such as "Çanakkale Türküsü." In an interview about the artistic community, she summed up her outlook with the remark that "an artist does not get ahead through conflict."
