Melek Mosso — Biography

Melek Mosso is a pop singer and music teacher who also writes her own songs. She reached a wide audience with two recordings: her cover of Yıldız Tilbe's Vursalar Ölemem and Hiç Işık Yok, which she sang with No.1 for the series Çukur. Each has been watched over a hundred million times on YouTube. Her distinctive style and tone of voice draw attention, and she was still performing in the summer of 2026.

She began with music at seven, when she wrote her first composition. At nine she started bağlama and folk music lessons at the Denizli Municipal Conservatory, took up the flute in high school, and studied music teaching at Aydın Adnan Menderes University. In Istanbul she performed on the Kadıköy-Beşiktaş circuit and prepared students for conservatory exams, and with friends she founded Zbam The Band, playing swing and jazz. She won a special jury prize at a song contest and competed in the fifth season of O Ses Türkiye in 2015-2016.

Her breakthrough came in late 2017; Hiç Işık Yok was later included on No.1's album Siyah Bayrak. In 2018 Kedi, with words and music by herself, stayed on radio playlists for a long time. In 2020 she released the EP Melek Mosso, followed by joint songs with Aras, Haluk Levent, Veys Çolak and Murat Boz, and tribute projects for Bergen and Mustafa Sandal. The stage name Mosso is an Italian musical term meaning gradually speeding up; her real surname is Davarcı. She married in 2023 and divorced in 2025.
