Mehmet Uzun — Biography
Mehmet Uzun, born on 6 June 1950 in the village of Kayacık in Turhal, Tokat, is a retired Turkish freestyle wrestler and coach. Standing 1.74 meters tall, he won a silver medal in the 82 kg category at the 1974 World Wrestling Championships and gold medals in the same weight class at both the 1971 and 1975 Mediterranean Games.
Representing Turkey at the 1976 Summer Olympics, Uzun finished fourth in the men's freestyle 82 kg competition, one of the standout international results of his career.
