Mehmet Reşat Nayır — Biography

Mehmet Reşat Nayır (13 July 1911 – 25 October 1992) was a Turkish footballer and coach regarded as one of the earliest home-grown stars of Fenerbahçe. He began playing while a student at the Gelenbevi and Kadıköy schools in Istanbul and rose through Fenerbahçe's youth ranks as a winger, going on to make 312 appearances for the club, win five league titles, and earn four national-team caps, including a place in Turkey's squad at the 1936 Berlin Olympics.

After retiring as a player, Nayır moved into coaching, taking charge of Fenerbahçe for the 1959–60 season and later managing Vefa in 1961. He also held administrative roles with his club and the Turkish football federation, and remained closely associated with Fenerbahçe's history for decades. He died in Istanbul in 1992 and was buried at Karacaahmet Cemetery.
