Mehmet Akgün — Biography
Mehmet Akgün (born 6 August 1986 in Bielefeld, Germany) is a Turkish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Born in Germany, he holds both Turkish and German citizenship.
Akgün began his career in Germany and went on to play for Borussia Dortmund and the Dutch side Willem II before moving to Turkey, where he appeared for Beşiktaş, Gençlerbirliği, Kasımpaşa and Kayseri Erciyesspor; in 2018 he joined Karşıyaka. He also represented Turkey at under-17 level.
The 1.80 m tall midfielder gained experience in both German and Turkish league football.
