Megan Gale — Biography

Megan Kate Gale was born on 7 August 1975 in Parmelia, Western Australia, to a Polynesian mother and an English father. At eighteen she won a modelling contest in her hometown, and a run of commercials for the Italian telecom brand Omnitel, later known as Vodafone Italia, made her a familiar face in both Italy and Australia starting in 1999; she remained the brand's face through 2006. She also took roles in Italian film and television, appearing in Rob Cohen's Stealth (2005), released in Turkey as Görünmez Savaşçı. On screen she has played the role of Fatma in the 2014 film The Water Diviner, taken on Valkyrie in the 2015 blockbuster Mad Max: Fury Road, and appeared in Three Thousand Years of Longing (2022). She has hosted a radio programme in Italy, promoted tourism to Australia, and modelled for the department store David Jones. She took up an ambassador role for Kids Help Line in 2005, and four years later became the Australian Red Cross's first official National Ambassador.
