Mediha Didem Türemen — Biography
Mediha Didem Türemen, born on 10 June 1982, is a Turkish artist whose work spans contemporary art, film production design, art direction, acting, printmaking, and photography. Her contributions to cinema include serving as an executive producer on Nuri Bilge Ceylan's 2020 film "About Dry Grasses" and being nominated for Best Art Director at the 2015 Golden Orange Film Festival.
Her paper-based works have drawn an invitation from the Rome Triennale and she has taken part in numerous printmaking biennials and museum exhibitions, winning the Lorenzo il Magnifico award; one of her woodcut pieces is now part of the permanent collection of the Albertina Museum in Vienna. In 2023 she became the first Turkish artist to be featured in the Arctic World Archive with a documentary, and in December 2024 she received an award at the Peru Biennial.
