Mahmut Temür — Biography
Mahmut Temür is a Turkish-German midfielder who came up in Germany and spent the later part of his career in Turkey. He could play in the centre of midfield or out wide, and has since stopped playing professionally.
He began at FC 08 Düren-Niederau and in 2005 joined the youth ranks of 1. FC Köln. In 2007-08 he played 23 of 26 matches for the under-19 side and scored 17 goals; Köln reached the final but did not win the title. That season he also stepped up to the fourth-division Köln II, making his debut on 21 October 2007, and helped the team finish third in 2008-09 and fourth the year after. In 2010 he moved on a free transfer to third-division SSV Jahn Regensburg, saying he hoped to play in Turkey later; he scored the winning goal in his first match, played 35 games in his first season, and the next year the club beat Karlsruher SC in the play-off to reach the 2. Bundesliga, with him coming on for the last ten minutes of the first leg. Short of playing time at Regensburg, he went to RW Erfurt and then FC 08 Homburg. Before 2013-14 he joined Mersin İdman Yurdu in the 1. Lig, which began his Turkish career; he later played for Adanaspor and Karşıyaka and moved to Adanaspor in May 2018.
He wore the under-20 shirt in friendly matches against Finland in November 2008.
