Mahinur Ergün — Biography

Mahinur Ergün is a Turkish film director and screenwriter born in 1956 in Bursa. After training in cinema and television at the Ankara School of Press and Broadcasting, she built a career spanning more than three decades in Turkish television and film, working both behind the camera as a director and as a writer.

She became widely known for directing the series Şaşıfelek Çıkmazı and for writing the long-running hit Asmalı Konak, and her work is noted for putting women's inner lives and social struggles at the center of the story. Later credits as screenwriter include Merhamet, Alev Alev, Hayat Şarkısı, Gülizar, Hayat Sırları, Kısmet and Ben Bu Cihana Sığmazam.
