Lara — Biography

Born Fatma Nur Keskin on 19 March 1979 into a musical family in Kırıkkale, the singer known as Lara worked briefly as a flight attendant in Alanya after finishing high school.

She launched her recording career on 5 June 2003 with the album Işık, released through Ozan Müzik. Her second album, Adam Gibi Adam, came out on 27 May 2005, sold around 100,000 copies and won a Golden Album award at the 4th Müyap Music Awards. She released her third album, Yadigar, on 15 January 2008, followed in 2010 by the four-track maxi-single Yolla; around this time she underwent surgery for a vocal cord problem and returned to performing after voice therapy. In 2014 she released the duet "Maç Kaç Kaç" with Mutlu Genç, and in 2015 the single "Bi Sana," which earned her the Best Breakthrough Artist award at the Kral TV Video Music Awards that year. She continued releasing singles through the following decade, including "İhaneti Giymişsin" (2017), "Sanal Alem" and "Mecburi Veda" (2020), and "Bi Dahaki Yaz" (2022), before releasing the album Larabesk in 2024, continuing her work as a pop performer who writes her own lyrics.
