Korcan Çelikay — Biography

Korcan Çelikay (born 31 December 1987 in Safranbolu, Karabük) is a Turkish footballer who plays as a goalkeeper. He stands 1.94 m tall.

Çelikay began playing football at Güngörenspor in 2000, moved to İstanbulspor's youth setup in 2004 and joined Beşiktaş in 2005. After years as a reserve keeper, he made his Süper Lig debut in 2009 against Bursaspor when Rüştü Reçber and Hakan Arıkan were both injured. In the 2010-11 season he was loaned to Diyarbakırspor and then transferred mid-season to Sivasspor, where Rıza Çalımbay made him the first-choice goalkeeper.

In July 2011 he was arrested as part of the match-fixing investigation and spent about five months in prison; the prison sentence handed down by a local court in 2012 was overturned by the Court of Cassation in 2014. He later guarded the goal of MKE Ankaragücü for many years, becoming one of the club's key figures. He joined Kocaelispor in 2021 and was named captain, before moving to Bucaspor 1928 in 2023 and Adanaspor in 2024. He also represented Turkey at youth levels.
