Killa Hakan — Biography

Born Hakan Durmuş on 3 March 1973 in Berlin, Killa Hakan emerged in the late 1980s as one of the pioneering figures of the German Turkish-language rap scene. As one of the artists who helped introduce rap music and street culture to Turkish youth in Germany, he built a substantial following on both sides of the German-Turkish music scene.

In 2026, it was announced that a film based on his life story was in production, with Killa Hakan set to portray himself. After more than three decades in music, he remains one of the defining reference points of Turkish-language rap.
