Kerim Afşar — Biography

Kerim Afşar (13 August 1930, Istanbul – 26 September 2003) was a Turkish stage, film and television actor who also worked as a director and voice actor. Educated at the Ankara State Conservatory, he remained active for more than five decades, from the early 1950s until his death. Alongside a distinguished theatre career, he appeared in films such as Çalıkuşu (1966), Battal Gazi Destanı (1971), Arkadaş (1974) and Mine (1982), and in television series including Kurt ve Kuzu, Bizim Aile and Karate Can. He was married to the actress and theatre director Esin Afşar. After his death in 2003, he continued to be remembered with respect in Turkish theatre circles.
