Kerem Gönlüm — Biography

Kerem Gönlüm was born on November 22, 1977, in Eskişehir. Standing 2.06 meters tall, he built a professional career that began in 1998 as a power forward and center, earning national team caps and helping Turkey win silver at the 2010 FIBA World Championship; he played for clubs including Galatasaray and Pınar Karşıyaka.

In the summer of 2019, at age 41, he signed with İTÜ for the final stretch of his playing career, while also launching a career in sports punditry on a local radio station earlier that year. A nephew of saz virtuoso Özay Gönlüm, he remains a familiar figure in Turkish basketball as both a former player and a commentator.
