Kemal Rüzgar — Biography

Kemal Rüzgar is a forward who grew up in Germany and, after returning to Turkey, became one of the most prolific scorers in the TFF 2. Lig. He was the league's top scorer three seasons in a row and led Sarıyer to the title. In summer 2026 he opened a new chapter by agreeing a deal with Elazığspor.

Born in Dillenburg, Rüzgar played for SSC Juno Burg, Fortuna Düsseldorf and Bayer Leverkusen in the youth ranks and turned professional in 2014 with Fortuna Düsseldorf II. He scored his first goal against VfL Bochum II in February 2015, and in 2015-16 he also made his first 2. Bundesliga appearance with the senior side and finished the season with 16 goals in 29 matches. He was then loaned to VfL Osnabrück and FC Viktoria Köln, winning a regional cup with each. In 2018 he returned to Turkey with Altınordu, tried the Süper Lig with Çaykur Rizespor in 2020 and scored five goals in the first half of the season. He also had a share in Manisa FK's 2. Lig title.

His breakthrough came at Şanlıurfaspor: in 2022-23 he scored 25 goals with 9 assists in 39 matches and took the team up to the 1. Lig through the play-offs. He scored 23 goals at Menemen FK and 19 at Sarıyer. In 2025 he joined Kahramanmaraş İstiklalspor and reached 30 goals in 2025-26 before leaving the club in May 2026. For Turkey's under-18 side he made seven appearances and scored two goals.
