Kemal Kılıç — Biography

Known formally as Mustafa Kemal Kılıç, the coach was born on 25 April 1956 in Adana and began his playing days as a midfielder. After joining Beşiktaş for the 1976-77 season, he held down a regular starting spot there for five years before later turning out for Altay, Ankaragücü, and finally Kayserispor, where he closed out his playing career.

He stepped into coaching in 1991 as an assistant at Bakırköyspor and was soon promoted to head the team himself, going on to lead numerous Süper Lig and second-division sides, including a spell at Gaziosmanpaşa. He took charge of Karşıyaka at the end of 2010, and in the 2011-12 season guided second-tier Şanlıurfaspor to a group title and promotion; by autumn 2012 he had moved on to manage Göztepe.
