Kemal İzzet — Biography

Kemal Izzet was born on 29 September 1980 in Mile End, east London, and is an English footballer of Turkish descent who later moved into coaching. He came through the youth ranks at Charlton Athletic but never established himself in the club's first team.

His move to Colchester United in 2001 proved decisive: he stayed with the club for more than a decade, racking up over 400 league appearances by the time he left in 2013 and becoming one of the side's longest-serving midfielders. He then spent three seasons at Needham Market before stepping away from playing to work as a coach.
