Kemal Faruki — Biography

Kemal Faruki (born 27 August 1910 in Istanbul – died 27 January 1988 in Cairo) was a Turkish professional footballer and businessman. Educated at Galatasaray High School, he played as a forward.

He spent his entire club career with Galatasaray, playing until the summer of 1934, and was part of the side that dominated Turkish football in the 1920s and 1930s, winning five of the eight Istanbul Football League titles. His unconventional style and unexpected moves earned him the nickname "Zıt Kemal".

He made his international debut for Turkey in 1927 against Bulgaria, scoring in that match, and was part of Turkey's squad at the 1928 Summer Olympics without appearing in any game. He later settled in Egypt, married there, and died in Cairo in 1988.
