Katayoun Amirebrahimi — Biography

Katayoun Amirebrahimi is a film actress born in 1939 in Sanandaj (also rendered Senendec), in Iran's Kurdistan region. She launched her career with the 1965 films A Perfect Gentleman and The Bright Horizon, quickly becoming one of the more prolific screen faces of the era.

Between 1966 and 1969 she appeared in numerous productions, including Emrooz va Farda, Champion Shamsi, Hashem Khan, Almas 33, Sorrows and Joys, A Woman Called Sharab, The Thief in Black, Qaroon's Love and The Golden Palace, establishing herself as a familiar name in Iran's pre-revolution "Film Farsi" cinema.

She continued working into the early 1970s in films such as Hassan the Bald, Selahattin Eyyubi, Shahre Gonah, Scandal of Love, Shayyadan, Trees Die Standing and Kiss on Bloody Lips, closing out this phase of her filmography with 1973's Ma'shooghe.
