Kadir Özcan — Biography
Born Ömer Kadri Özcan on 21 June 1952 in Akçaabat, he became far better known by his shortened name, Kadir Özcan. A defender by trade, he spent the bulk of his playing career at Trabzonspor, forming part of the squad that made history as the first team from Anatolia to win the Turkish championship, and he is remembered as one of the most significant figures in the club's history. He also played for Galatasaray during his career.
After hanging up his boots he stayed involved in the game as a football coach. Özcan died of a heart attack on 22 October 2013.
