Kadir Akbulut — Biography

Kadir Akbulut was born on 8 May 1960 in the Çivril district of Denizli. He began playing football in Denizlispor's youth setup before spending his entire professional career with Beşiktaş, where he played as a left-sided defender. Over the course of his career he made 348 Süper Lig appearances for the club, ranking among the most-capped players in Beşiktaş's league history and earning recognition as one of the club's most notable figures.

At international level he played for both the Turkey senior national team and the U-21 side. After retiring as a player, Akbulut moved into coaching, working as a head coach, and also worked at times as a sports columnist and manager within Turkish football.
