Jean-Marie Pallardy — Biography
Jean-Marie Pallardy was a name in French exploitation cinema, working as a director, actor, screenwriter and producer. He began with softcore erotic films and later tried crime and adventure pictures. His most ambitious project is generally considered to be White Fire (1984), starring Robert Ginty and Fred Williamson, which has become popular with camp and cult-film enthusiasts.
Before moving into film he worked as a male model in the 1960s. After the erotic pictures he directed, his crime and adventure efforts met with mixed results. He also appeared on screen: he is credited alongside Gordon Mitchell, Jess Hahn and Jean Luisi on Yumurcak Belalı Tatil and The Man from Chicago. As France's exploitation cinema declined in the 1980s, his output grew sparse; among his last films, The Donor (La donneuse), with David Carradine as a guest star, went straight to DVD in 2004. Foxtrap and Métrès are also part of his filmography.
His film career spanned roughly twenty-five years. Born in Moulins in 1940, Pallardy was the brother of Pierre Pallardy. He died in Clamart on 12 December 2024, aged 84.
