Jale Arıkan — Biography

Jale Arıkan is a Turkish-German film and television actress born on 22 August 1965 in Istanbul, who has built much of her career in Germany. She began acting in the late 1980s with the German production Vatan Yolu and continued with a role in the 1992 police series Wolffs Revier.

Through the 2000s and 2010s she worked on both German and Turkish productions, including Soundless, Evet, ich will!, Zenne and the Hamburg-set crime series Tatort in the episode Es ist böse, while on Turkish television she played Behice in the series Veda. For her role in the 2012 film Zerre (The Particle) she won the Silver George for Best Actress at the 35th Moscow International Film Festival in 2013, where the film itself received the festival's top prize, the Golden George.

She continued her career with the 2016 film Kaçış and went on working across both Turkish and German film and television projects in the years that followed.
