İsmail Şahmalı — Biography

İsmail Şahmalı (born 4 January 1982 in Sarıçam, Adana) is a Turkish former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper.

He spent his career with numerous clubs across the Turkish leagues. In 2017, while at Manisaspor, he agreed terms with Adana Demirspor in June; he moved to Kızılcabölükspor in 2018, and in 2020 signed for Büyükşehir Gaziantepspor and later for the Manisa side.

In March 2017 he suffered the loss of his young son, yet continued his playing career, and for many years he was regarded as one of the experienced goalkeepers of Turkey's lower divisions.
