İsmail Güneş — Biography
İsmail Güneş (b. June 10, 1961, Samsun), Turkish director, screenwriter and producer.
He graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Literature. His first cinema experience was as a directing assistant to Natuk Baytan starting in 1976 during his university years. In 1977, with his first short film titled Karanlık bir dönem, he gave his directorial debut. The film won the best film award given by IFSAK in 1982. Between 1982 and 1986 he worked as a journalist. In 1986, he made a return to cinema directing with his first feature film Gün doğmadan.
