İrfan Başaran — Biography

İrfan Başaran is a midfielder who came through the Galatasaray youth system and has spent most of his career in the lower divisions of Turkish football. He played in Galatasaray's youth ranks between 2002 and 2007 and, as a teenager, turned out many times for the Turkey under-18 national team.

His professional path opened in 2008, when the then Galatasaray coach Michael Skibbe brought him into the first team, although he spent the 2008-09 season on loan at Beylerbeyi. A long run from club to club followed: Orduspor in 2009-10, Adana Demirspor before the 2012-13 season, and Yeni Malatyaspor in 2014-15. He parted ways with Yeni Malatyaspor in June 2017 and signed with Boluspor the following month. In 2018-19 he moved to Samsunspor and played 16 matches in the first half of the season; at the start of 2019-20 he was sent to Bandırmaspor.

Altınordu, 52 Orduspor and İskenderunspor are also among the teams he has played for.
