İrem Damla Şahin — Biography

İrem Damla Şahin is a women's goalkeeper who stood out when she was named "Best Goalkeeper" at the 2018 Turkish Girls' Championship, rose to the national under-19 team, and has guarded Beşiktaş's goal since July 2025. The goalkeeper from Ordu began in her hometown, moved to İzmir, returned home again and finally made her way to Istanbul.

She obtained her licence on 4 June 2015 from Yenimahalle 52 Spor, also known as Soyaspor Gençlik, made her debut in the Women's Third League on 8 November 2015 and played 50 matches in Ordu over three seasons. In 2018-19 she moved to İzmir to join the First League side Konak Belediyespor, who finished the season in third place. After a long break during the COVID-19 period she joined her hometown club Ünye Kadın in 2023-24, played six matches and saw the team win the First League title and move up to the Super League. In the Super League she wore number 26 at the same club.

Selected for the Turkey women's under-19 team, Şahin made her debut in a friendly against Poland on 30 August 2018 and played one match in the qualifying round and two in the Elite round of the 2019 UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship qualification. In July 2025 she moved to Beşiktaş together with Yeliz Açar, and in the summer of 2026 she was one of seven players whose contracts the club renewed.
