İlyas Yalçıntaş — Biography

Turkish pop singer İlyas Yalçıntaş writes much of his own material. His rise came with "İncir", the song he performed on X Factor Türkiye, and he has since widened his catalogue with duets and collaborations; "Gel Be Gökyüzüm" (2017) also found him listeners in Iran.

He was born in Erzincan and finished Küçükçekmece İMKB Anatolian High School. He began playing guitar at sixteen and for years earned his living performing at various venues. In 2014 he entered X Factor with "İncir", written by his friend İskender Külekçi and composed by Orçun Karamuk; a 2015 version rearranged with Behzat Gerçeker and Enbe Orkestrası topped the Kral Pop and TTNet Müzik charts. That year he also released "Olmazsa Olmazımsın", followed by the album İçimdeki Duman (2016), which gathered those songs. In May 2018 he released the duet "Şehrin Yolu" with Feride Hilal Akın; he wrote the lyrics himself.

Later singles highlight collaborations: "Mask" (2022) with Farzad Farzin, "Hiç Unutma" (2023) with Sinan Akçıl and "Şahit" (2024) with Ece Mumay. He recorded "Resim" with Faruk Sabancı for Serdar Ortaç Şarkıları and "Hüzün" for Bülent Özdemir Şarkıları. In December 2023 he announced that he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome.
