İlter Taşkın — Biography

Taşkın İlter is a 1.85 m midfielder born in Berlin who plays for the Azerbaijan national team, began his career in Germany and has continued it in Turkey. He holds German, Azerbaijani and Turkish citizenship, and in recent years has been in the squad of Süper Lig side Eyüpspor.

He spent his youth years with clubs in his home city of Berlin. In the winter break of 2012-13 he joined the U19 side of Eintracht Braunschweig, and the following season was promoted to the club's reserve team in the Regionalliga Nord. In 2015 he moved to TSG Neustrelitz in the Regionalliga Nordost, and in July 2016 to Turkey and Denizlispor. He later played for Eyüpspor; a move to Bursaspor came up in December 2025 but was put on hold, and in the summer of 2026 Kayserispor's interest made the news.

His international path started earlier than his professional one: before he had played a professional match, Berti Vogts called him up to the Azerbaijan senior side in November 2013, and he made his debut in a friendly against Kyrgyzstan on 19 November 2013. In October 2014 he was called up again for the Euro 2016 qualifiers against Italy and Croatia, and he has also represented Azerbaijan at under-21 level. In an interview in May 2026 he said he had been waiting for another call-up but that the news never came.
