İlkan Karaman — Biography
İlkan Karaman was born on 13 May 1990 in Çerkezköy, Tekirdağ. Standing 2.06 m tall and playing as a power forward, he was selected by the Brooklyn Nets in the 2012 NBA draft, making him one of the few Turkish basketball players to be drafted into the NBA. He spent a significant part of his career wearing number 37 for Beşiktaş and also represented the Turkish national basketball team.
Karaman died on 8 September 2024 in a traffic accident in Datça, Muğla province. The driver responsible for the crash was arrested and later tried and sentenced.
