İlhan Şeşen — Biography
İlhan Şeşen (18 June 1948, Manisa - 26 May 2025, Istanbul) was a Turkish musician, singer-songwriter and actor who graduated from Istanbul University's Faculty of Law. After practicing as a lawyer for about a decade, he began singing with dance orchestras in 1968, the same year he learned guitar, and released his first record, "Kavga," in 1971. In 1983 he left the legal profession to focus on music full-time, becoming one of the founders of the group Grup Gündoğarken together with his nephews.
Known for songs such as "Neler Oluyor Bize," "Ellerimde Çiçekler" and "Rüzgar," he also built an acting career, appearing in numerous television series and films including Aliye, Gönülçelen and Yeditepe İstanbul. Şeşen died in Istanbul on 26 May 2025 after a period of treatment for lung cancer. He continues to be honored with annual memorial events in Kadıköy and his hometown of Manisa, and a park in Kadıköy is planned to be named after him.
