İlhan Mansız — Biography

Of Crimean Tatar descent, İlhan Mansız is a former Turkish international footballer, figure skater and actor, born on 10 August 1975 in Kempten, Germany. A striker nicknamed "Asi Ruh" (Rebellious Spirit), he began his football career in Germany and continued it in Türkiye, where he shared the league's top-scorer title with 21 goals for Beşiktaş in the 2001-02 season and earned 38 caps for the national team. At the 2002 FIFA World Cup, where Türkiye finished third, his extra-time golden goal against Senegal in the quarter-final went down as the last golden goal in World Cup history. After retiring from football, he played Ömer in the series Doktorlar (2008), won the Turkish pairs figure skating title in 2015 and competed in Survivor in 2017. In recent years he has stayed in the public eye through sports programmes and football events.
