İbrahim Tusder — Biography
İbrahim Tusder (15 January 1915, Istanbul - 9 July 2001, İzmir) was a Turkish midfielder and later a football coach. He came up through the Galatasaray academy and played in the club's first team until the 1935-36 season, when he was among the players who left amid a dispute with the club's management and founded Güneş, where he played until 1938. When Güneş was dissolved after its founders settled their dispute with Galatasaray and most players returned there, Tusder instead chose Beşiktaş, where he played six seasons before retiring as an active footballer.
Capped twice for Turkey's senior national team, Tusder was part of the squad at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, playing in a 4-0 loss to Norway. He was the father-in-law of Şeref Has, a popular Fenerbahçe player of his era.
After retiring as a player he moved into coaching, taking charge of Beykoz in 1952-53 and again in 1959-60, and of Beşiktaş in 1963 as general manager, also running the first team until new coach Ernst Melchior arrived. In 1964-65 he led Denizlispor to the 1. Lig title and promotion to the Süper Lig, then went on to coach PTT, Vefa and Süper Lig side Karşıyaka in turn, returning to coach Vefa once more in the second half of the 1960s.
