İbrahim Akdağ was born on 21 July 1991 in the Fatih district of Istanbul. Standing 1.79 m tall, the midfielder has played for clubs including Istanbul Başakşehir during his career and is known for his combative style on the pitch.

In recent seasons he has turned out for TFF First League side Ankara Keçiörengücü, whom he captains. In April 2026, Akdağ made headlines after publicly claiming that rival club Esenler Erokspor was being favored and appealing directly to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan over the matter.
