Hüseyin Çimşir — Biography

Hüseyin Çimşir was born on 26 May 1979 in the Araklı district of Trabzon and went on to become a football manager after a playing career built around his hometown club, Trabzonspor. Having come up through Trabzonspor's youth system, he had spells at Sakaryaspor and Antalyaspor before returning to Trabzonspor, where he played until the end of the 2008-09 season and served for a time as team captain.

When his contract expired, Çimşir signed with Bursaspor over several other offers and was part of the squad that won the 2009-10 Süper Lig title. Known for his combative reactions to refereeing decisions, he drew heavy criticism from Trabzonspor supporters after mistakes in a 2007-08 match against Fenerbahçe, a rift that contributed to his eventual departure from the club.

After retiring at the end of the 2012-13 season, Çimşir began his coaching career with Trabzon Akçaabat's U-14 side, then worked as an assistant coach at Akhisar Belediyespor, Osmanlıspor, Konyaspor and Trabzonspor. He was named Trabzonspor's head coach in January 2020 following Ünal Karaman's resignation, left the post that July, and subsequently managed BB Erzurumspor before returning to Trabzonspor as Şenol Güneş's assistant in September 2024.
