Hugh O'Conor — Biography

Dublin-born on 19 April 1975, Hugh O'Conor is the son of concert pianist John O'Conor and has spent his career acting, writing, directing and taking photographs. He began performing as a child, portraying a young Christy Brown in My Left Foot in 1989, and went on to build a long filmography that includes The Three Musketeers, Chocolat, Blueberry, the Irish comedy The Stag, the television drama The Frankenstein Chronicles and the film Pilgrimage. He also played a supporting role as engineer Jonathan Shepherd in the television movie Saving the Titanic, and has taken guest parts in British detective series such as Ripper Street and Lewis. Beyond acting he has written and directed his own projects and works as a photographer. A 2020 ranking by The Irish Times placed him among the fifty best Irish screen performers of all time, at number 49.
