Hayko Cepkin — Biography

Hayko Cepkin is a rock musician known as a singer, songwriter, pianist and actor, whose music combines alternative metal, industrial sounds and Anatolian rock with melodic passages. He stands out for his concept albums, each tied to a single theme such as fear, death or love. His current project is the eight-city Electric tour of Turkey announced in summer 2026.

He took voice, solfège and piano lessons at Mimar Sinan University and turned professional in 1997. He shared the stage with artists such as Kurban, Ogün Sanlısoy, Aylin Aslım and Demir Demirkan, and appeared on some of their albums through arrangements and keyboard work. He made his debut with Sakin Olmam Lazım (2005), recorded at home. It was followed by Tanışma Bitti (2007) on fear, Sandık (2010) on death, Aşkın Izdırabını (2012) on love, and Beni Büyüten Şarkılar Vol. 1 (2016), where he interpreted songs he listened to in childhood; he has continued recording with Karantina Günlüğü (2020) and Sizi Büyüten Şarkılar (2025).

Outside music, he composed the score of the film Araf, played İsfandiyar in Çocuk (2008), narrated the series Acayip Hikayeler and took a role in the musical Jekyll & Hyde. He has performed at festivals such as Rock'n Coke and was a judge at Rock'n Dark in 2010. In 2006 he was named best male rock artist at the Kral TV Music Awards, and in 2014 he moved from Istanbul to Selçuk, near İzmir.
