Hasan Şengün — Biography
Hasan Şengün is a former Turkish forward and manager known in Turkish football by the nickname “Dobi Hasan”. He is associated above all with Samsunspor and Trabzonspor: in 1983-84 he won the league title with Trabzonspor and finished second in the race for top scorer. After retiring he worked for years in the lower divisions and the Samsunspor academy, and later became a television pundit in Samsun.
He turned professional with Samsunspor in 1979 and broke into the national team there. In 1983 he moved to Trabzonspor for a fee of 12.5 million Turkish lira and settled in at once: in his first season he scored 14 goals in 32 league matches and won his only league title with the club. After eight years at Trabzonspor he joined Malatyaspor, but played in only one cup match there and went back to Samsunspor at the mid-season break. He earned 18 caps in all, one for the under-21 side and seventeen for the senior national team, and scored three goals for the senior side.
He began coaching in 1994 in the Samsunspor academy, then coached Erbaaspor, Tokatspor, Çarşambaspor and Termespor. From 2000 he spent six years in the Samsunspor youth setup and ran the first team for the closing weeks of the 2006-07 season. Later he worked with İlkadım Belediyespor, Adıyamanspor, Akçaabat Sebatspor and the amateur side Dikbıyık Belediyespor, and in 2013 became Samsunspor's youth development manager. In 2016-17 he worked at Isparta Davrazspor in a push for promotion to the professional ranks, and he later took charge of Isparta 32 Spor in 2019 and joined Tireboluspor in 2022.
