Halil İbrahim Sönmez — Biography
Halil İbrahim Sönmez was born on 1 October 1990 in the Yomra district of Trabzon and has played as a winger throughout his career. He turned out for clubs including Konyaspor, Ünyespor, Orhangazispor, Sandıklıspor and Gebzespor, and became known nationally during the 2015-16 season when he reached a sprint speed of 35 km/h in a match against Akhisar Belediyespor, placing him among the world's fastest footballers behind Arjen Robben and Gareth Bale.
In the later stage of his career he moved to Elazığspor, where he was named team captain; in 2026 he featured prominently with goals and assists for the club and also visited the Karpaz Sports Academy in Northern Cyprus to meet young players.
