Hakkı Bulut — Biography
Hakkı Bulut (born 3 February 1945 in the village of Aktarla, Mazgirt, Tunceli) is a Turkish arabesque singer-songwriter, record producer and actor of Kurdish descent. A graduate of the Adana Teachers' School, he is also remembered for his background in teaching.
Regarded as one of the founding figures of arabesque music, Bulut has released more than sixty studio albums, making him one of the genre's most prolific and popular performers. He maintained a parallel career in cinema: his acting began with "Dokunmayın Dünyama" (1977) and continued with films such as "Seven Unutmaz" (1978), "Ben Tövbemi Geri Aldım" (1984), "Sabır Ey Gönül" (1985), "Seven Kıskanır" (1986) and "Ah İstanbul" (1992); he later appeared in "Aşkopat" (2015) and "Hayati Tehlike" (2016) and contributed music to the 2006 television series "İki Aile".
Still performing in his eighties, he played to thousands at the 13th Spring Festival in May 2026. That same month he was the target of a prank during a TikTok broadcast and was reduced to tears, which drew wide coverage, while his modest three-bedroom flat in Bahçelievler also became a talking point in the entertainment press in the spring of 2026.
