Hakan Yılmaz — Biography

Hakan Yılmaz was born on 6 December 1969 in Rize, with family roots in Çayeli. He first performed on stage in primary school and took part in folklore and dance activities in high school; after failing to enter a conservatory theatre program, he kept acting with amateur troupes and school plays. During military service he worked in a photography and animation unit, then settled in Antalya, performing with a theatre company and appearing on a local television program. Back in Istanbul he took acting classes before briefly working as a graphic designer.

In 1994 he appeared in a game show performing his own sketches, then joined a youth variety program and began appearing in commercials. In 1997 he played a doctor in the series Yangın Ayşe, and the next year hosted a children's competition show for many episodes. From 1999 to 2004 he played a lead role in Ayrılsak da Beraberiz, while also touring with a stage play in those same years.

He went on to play notable characters in Avrupa Yakası and Yahşi Cazibe, and appeared in films such as Bana Bir Soygun Yaz and Kendi Düşen Ağlamaz. A father of two, he divorced in 2011 and was attacked in a hotel lobby with his wife in 2017. In 2026 he took on the role of Hulusi Arcalı in Doğanın Kanunu.
