Hakan Balta — Biography
Hakan Kadir Balta (born 23 March 1983 in Berlin) is a retired Turkish international footballer who played as a defender. A product of the Hertha Berlin youth system in his native city, he could operate both at left-back and in central defence.
He joined Galatasaray in 2007 and spent more than a decade at the club, also earning caps for the Turkey national team. At the start of the 2018–19 season his contract was released, bringing his playing career to an end.
After retiring he moved into coaching. His son Çağrı Hakan Balta is also a footballer.
