Hakan Akkaya — Biography

Hakan Akkaya was born on 23 July 1982 in Ordu. While studying at the Faculty of Architecture of Bilkent University, he left in his second year and trained in fashion design at the İstasyon Art Center.

In the early years of his career he worked as design director for well-known companies such as Altınyıldız, Sarar and Boyner. He made a name for himself in the fashion world as the first Turkish designer to take part in the Who's Next Paris and Bread & Butter fairs.

Creating custom designs for many celebrities in his own atelier, Akkaya also became a familiar face on television. He served as a jury member on the contests Bugün Ne Giysem and İşte Benim Stilim, and sat on the jury of the fashion program Stil Avcıları, broadcast on Fox Tv, together with Demet Şener and Uğurkan Erez.
