Gonca Us — Biography

Gonca Us was a Turkish model born in 1969 in İzmir. She was one of three people who died in a car crash near Susurluk, in Balıkesir Province, on 3 November 1996 — an event that left a lasting mark on Turkish political history.

She was reportedly romantically involved with Abdullah Çatlı, who died in the same crash. The accident exposed alleged ties between state officials, organized crime, and politics, and became widely known as the 'Susurluk scandal,' a topic that remained the subject of public debate for years afterward. In the aftermath, people close to her also came under investigation; press reports later noted that her brother received a prison sentence in a case involving organized-crime allegations.
