Gökdeniz Karadeniz — Biography
Gökdeniz Karadeniz (born 11 January 1980 in Giresun) is a Turkish football coach and former international player who played as a winger or attacking midfielder.
He began his career at Trabzonspor, where he spent 11 seasons, before joining Russian club Rubin Kazan in 2008 and playing there for 10 seasons, making over 250 appearances for each club and becoming one of Rubin's all-time leading league scorers.
He made his Turkey debut in 2003 against the Czech Republic and went on to earn 50 caps and score 6 goals; he was part of the UEFA Euro 2008 squad and is remembered for his goal in the historic 4-1 win over Greece in Athens in 2006. He began a coaching career in 2023, and in 2025 a stand at Rubin Kazan's Ak Bars Arena was named after him.
