Giray Bulak — Biography

Giray Bulak is known in Turkish football as a manager who moved from club to club, and his biggest achievement is leading Kardemir Karabükspor to the title and promotion in 1996-97. His playing career was short, so most of his working life was spent on the touchline. Since his coaching days he has worked as a pundit on TRT Spor, voicing his views on the football agenda openly.

He came through the youth ranks at Balıkesirspor, played there for a few seasons and then obtained his coaching licence. He entered the profession in 1991 as Georges Leekens's assistant at Trabzonspor and had his first head-coach job at Çaykur Rizespor in 1993. After the title in Karabük he coached Vanspor, Göztepe, Sakaryaspor, Konyaspor, Trabzonspor, Antalyaspor, Elazığspor, Ankaraspor and Vestel Manisaspor. In charge of Konyaspor in 2008-09 he took 7 wins, 7 draws and 14 defeats from 28 matches.

The 2010s brought shorter spells: he agreed a deal with Gençlerbirliği and left two weeks later over a transfer dispute, left Rizespor of his own accord in summer 2012, and in that same season worked as general manager at Trabzonspor and as head coach of Mersin İdman Yurdu. Adana Demirspor, Balıkesirspor, Boluspor and Fatih Karagümrük followed, and at Denizlispor in 2022-23 he won 5 of 17 official matches. In 2025 he stated that he has no social media accounts and that remarks shared under his name are fabricated.
