Gazapizm — Biography

Born Anıl Murat Acar on 20 July 1988 in Elazığ to two schoolteacher parents, Gazapizm relocated with his family to İzmir in 1997, where friendships with fellow high-school rappers drew him into hip-hop. A graduate in public administration from Dokuz Eylül University, he wrote his earliest tracks in 2003, co-founded the YMF collective with collaborators in 2004, and released his breakthrough early work with them. In 2009 he issued the album Majör Depresyon, named for the clinical depression he was being treated for at the time, and it sold far beyond expectations.

He has since recorded duets with numerous artists, most notably Cem Adrian, and reached a much wider audience through Heyecanı Yok and Kalbim Çukurda, tracks he prepared for the television series Çukur; Heyecanı Yok drew well over a hundred million YouTube views and won Best Song at the Golden Butterfly Awards. Following Unutulacak Dünler, one of Turkey's most-streamed songs of 2020, he released the album Dönmek İçin Eve in 2024, and in 2026 the record returned to the spotlight through an accompanying documentary film shot partly in Kars, a vinyl edition, a duet with Aleyna Tilki titled Tanırım İntiharı, and concerts in cities including İzmir, Bilecik and Antalya.
