Galip Kulaksızoğlu — Biography

Galip Kulaksızoğlu was born in 1889 in the Kadıköy district of Istanbul and was educated at St. Joseph High School. He was among the founding members of Fenerbahçe, holding the club's membership number 8, and captained the team from 1908 to 1924 while also serving as its manager between 1911 and 1915. In 1910 he briefly acted as the club's president, and during the same period he directed the Kadıköy Moda Maritime Sports Club.

Remembered as one of the defining figures of Fenerbahçe's earliest years both on the pitch and in its administration, Kulaksızoğlu died in Istanbul on 22 November 1939. His name still surfaces in historical accounts of the Fenerbahçe-Galatasaray rivalry, and he was portrayed as a character in the 2024 film 'Zaferin Rengi' ('The Color of Victory'), which dramatizes the club's founding era.
