Galip Haktanır — Biography
Galip Haktanır (1 August 1921, İznik – 30 September 2023) was a Turkish international footballer and later a coach who played as a defender. He was widely known by the nickname "Kör Galip".
Wikidata, the English, Spanish and Russian Wikipedias and DBpedia all give 1 August 1921 in İznik, whereas the Turkish Wikipedia states 1 February 1921 in Bursa. Press coverage of his 100th birthday in August 2021 supports the August date, and İznik is a district of Bursa province, so the two place records are compatible.
According to the Russian Wikipedia he represented Turkey at the 1948 London Olympic Games. When he died on 30 September 2023 at the age of 102, Cumhuriyet, Sözcü, Fanatik, Halk TV and T24 remembered him as the oldest living player ever to have appeared for the Turkish national team.
