Galip Güzel — Biography

Galip Güzel (born 10 January 1987 in Merzifon) is a Turkish footballer who played as a midfielder. Merzifon is a district of Amasya province, which some sources list as his birthplace instead.

His career took in clubs including Alanyaspor and Osmanlıspor; Alanyaspor won promotion to the Süper Lig in 2016, while his time at Osmanlıspor coincided with the widely reported payment crisis and player boycott of spring 2019. He signed for Menemenspor in August 2019, a spell in which his wages and on-field contribution became a talking point in the Turkish sports press. A move to Altınordu discussed in January 2020 came to nothing.

Sources disagree on his current status: some still list him in the Kuşadasıspor squad, while Turkish-language records state that he has ended his playing career.
